Several of Elmhurst’s au pairs about halfway through the walk. They needed to stop and fuel up with candy.

Quite a few host families got in to the spirit and joined us.

These two coordinated!

Thanks Amy Jarjusey for planning this event and making it go so smoothly!

As the crocuses and daffodils peak out and hint of the beautiful weather to come we notice our nests need to be spruced up too. Its a ritual that every cold weather culture celebrates and midwesterners excel at spring cleaning!  So before you toss stuff in the alley/curb on any old day, look into the spring cleaning offerings in your area.
Elmhurst spring cleaning event is April 13th, 14th & 15th. Here are the details for what may and  may not be included in curbside pick up.

In Lombard you can unload all of those old Walkmans and PDAs at their annual electronic recycling event coming up on April 2nd.

If you miss this date Villa Park has your back with its own electronic recycling event on April 23rd. Or, if you are feeling like the whole family could use a service day why not join the Community Prairie Path Clean up onApril 30th?

Addison families will be celebrating their spring with ballroom dancing, fish fry dinners and Easter egg hunts.

Happy Spring!

You haven’t experienced America until you’ve experienced our pastimes! This month the pastime we will explore is the timeless winter tradition of bingo. Au pairs, please come prepared to win prizes and have some fun. Please bring a beverage or snack to share.

Time & date: March 16th 7-pm the Hurst’s house in Elmhurst. (email or call Kim for exact address)

As always you can find my monthly au pair meeting schedule on the website here.

As previously stated via email, if you have tickets to the Wolves game that counts as your host family day conference. Be sure to sign in with Dorte Strobel at the game to get credit!

Invite your families too! It is a fun event and I would love the chance for you to introduce me to the whole family. There will be several other Cultural Care groups there too. Kudos to Kelly Pilleux for setting this event up for us all to enjoy!
